Non-phthalate plastisol clear base and additive designed to soften and extend compatible inks, improve printability, and produce a softer hand with excellent color clarity.

Characteristics

Avient K2922 ASI Soft Hand Clear LC is a versatile non-phthalate plastisol ink clear designed for blending with general-purpose and specialty plastisol inks to soften and extend ink bases while improving overall printability. It can also be used as a stand-alone base with compatible color systems to create custom colors with a soft hand and excellent color clarity.

When used as an additive, Soft Hand Clear LC helps make compatible inks easier to print while modifying the finished feel of the ink deposit. Its clear formulation allows printers to extend colors while maintaining excellent clarity, making it a useful production additive for applications where a softer printed hand is desired.

Soft Hand Clear LC is formulated to resist ink build-up during printing, supporting consistent performance and productivity during longer production runs. It can be incorporated into compatible Avient plastisol ink systems according to the performance requirements of the application.

For ASI NuPuff and Suede inks, Avient recommends using Soft Hand Clear LC at less than 10% by weight. Additions above 10% can reduce the bleed resistance and opacity of the finished ink, so printers should carefully evaluate the formulation before production.

Proper curing is essential for maximum wash fastness, adhesion, and durability. Avient specifies a cure temperature range of 270°F to 320°F (132°C to 160°C), depending on the ink system being modified. Fusion and production testing should always be performed to confirm that the ink, substrate, and application process meet the requirements of the finished product.
